Architecture De Rome

Our Home..........
The humans are in need of three basic things in life. And these three are Food, Shelter and clothing.
Food is the primary aspect without which humans cant survive. Shelter is equally important as it protects him and can also be a place of storing food.

Decades have passed from the "Neanderthal man" to the modern 21st century man.
His needs have changed. Life style is never the same. He needs more out of every thing now. Once safety and storage was the requirement fulfilled by the HOME. But now The Home has much more responsibilities. Today the Home is made to resemble the personality of the people living in it.

Designing the Home based on human requirements has been started centuries ago....

Marcus Vitruvius Polo or simply known as Vitruvius, best known as worlds first known engineer, who lived in the period 70BC to 15BC , has presented his world famous book De Architectura to the first Roman Emporer, Julius Caesar. De Architectura is considered to be the first book to have done a study of buildings and designs.  In his book he has carefully studied human structure and his relation to nature. Vitruvius created designs which were based on human and natures' geometry.

The Description about the Vitruvian man, given in De Architectura is world famous which was then depicted in picture by the world known Leonardo Davinci in 15th century.

The Roman architecture is well influenced by the Greeks. Greeks had their own distinct temples proof of which dates back to Archaic period (550 - 500 BC). For example, The Romans have addapted the concept of  Triclinium, Which is the term given for Formal dining room in a Roman building.

Architecture got almost extinct in Greece or had little growth till 7th century BC. When Prosperity recovered at Greece, the people got interest in public buildings which are beautiful and which shows their vigor. Greecs gave importance to Gods and temples. As a result, the architecture at Greece is framed at its temples.

The Roman empire came to an end with Nero. After Nero came the Flavian Dynasty, the dynasty which constructed the Flavian Amphitheater. (Amphitheatrum Flavium) Also known as the Colosseum.
The Colosseum started its construction under the ruler Vespasian by 70 AD and completed under the ruler Titus by 80AD. Some alterations were made to the Amphitheater by Domitian During his reign.
